These partial week programs are an introduction to the Montessori environment. By its very nature, a partial week program results in a slower-paced exploration of the curriculum for the young three or four-year-old. The children learn to be part of a community as they work with Montessori materials and develop their concentration, coordination, independence, sense of order, and confidence essential for all later learning.
The four and five-day programs are perfect for the child who is ready to enjoy a more comprehensive Montessori experience. The curriculum is more extensive than the two and three-day programs, providing more opportunities for lessons in practical life, sensorial, language, math, geography, history, science, art, music, sign language, and in-depth unit studies. Each activity is geared to assist children in the development of their concentration, coordination, independence, sense of order, and confidence essential for all later learning. This holistic approach creates a joyful, interested learner and an independent, capable, and well-rounded student.
We love the atmosphere at HMS. It was the one preschool we visited where I immediately trusted the staff with my children. My first two kids went to preschool there and the third is getting ready to start. We had great experiences and expect many more!" - Kara Olson, 2019
